When using the block editor with The Events Calendar, instead of using the manual excerpt feature, the “More” block is a way to mark where in the description you’d like the excerpt to be. Anything before the “More” block will define the excerpt.
Then, when using the {excerpt_from_description} tag in a design with Event Calendar Newsletter:
